The overall value of exported pineapples increased by an average 8.8% for all exporting countries from 5 years earlier in 2019 when pineapples shipped worldwide were valued at $2.19 billion.
Year over year, the value of globally exported pineapples advanced 8% compared to $2.2 billion during 2022.
The top 5 exporters were Costa Rica, Philippines, Netherlands, Belgium and the United States of America. Collectively, that quintet of leading suppliers generated just over four-fifths (80.9%) of all globally exported pineapples in 2023 by dollar value.
Among continents, providers in Latin America excluding Mexico but including the Caribbean generated the highest dollar worth in international sales of pineapples during 2023 with shipments valued at $1.3 billion or over half (54.9%) of the worldwide total. In second place were exporters in Europe at 18.5% while another 18.4% of total shipments of the sweet fruit originated from Asian suppliers.
Smaller percentages came from suppliers in North America (5.7%), Africa (2.5%) and Oceania (0.02%) mostly Australia and New Zealand.
