That dollar amount reflects an average 11% gain for all baby clothing shippers over the five-year period starting in 2018 when exported baby clothing shipments were worth $10.2 billion.
Year over year, the value of globally exported baby clothing increased by 2.3% compared to $11 billion during 2021.
Exported baby clothing is organized under two major categories: knitted or crocheted garments (79% of the global total) and non-knitted and non-crocheted clothing (21%).
Overall, the top 5 most lucrative exporters of baby clothing are mainland China, Bangladesh, India, Spain and Vietnam. Those 5 leading suppliers generated over three-fifths (61%) of worldwide exports of baby clothes in 2022.
