Description"Galloping Goose" 6.jpg |
With a Buick chassis, built in 1934, used for nearly 20 years as an economical work train by the Rio Grand Southern. We saw this on a visit to the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden. Photos of the engine during its working days: www.gallopinggoose.org/6.pl The name probably came about because it "tended to rock back and forth on the line's sometimes precarious track." according to Wikipedia. |
